Agricultural manageresses Czech republic
Agricultural manageresses Czech republic was established by the Agricultural Association of the Czech Republic, although we aim to have a broad-ranging impact. Agriculture can seem to be a male-dominated field. Yet a closer look reveals that this is definitely not the case. Women work as economists, livestock specialists, agronomists (agronomy students are predominantly female), and chairwomen of boards of management for companies. Women are active throughout vertical of agricultural management. Across Europe there are various platforms for the cooperation of women in agriculture, but we lacked one in the Czech Republic. The Agricultural Association decided to change this. Women Leaders in Agriculture was created to allow women in agriculture to connect directly.
Women in agriculture certainly have a lot to say and have easily found common ground. Among us are chairwomen and members of boards, farm owners, middle managers and other contributors, as per our statutes. As well as sharing experiences, visiting companies, and self-education, we work to increase communication with agricultural schools, representation at Czech and international conferences and in the media, and cooperation with similar platforms at the European level. Social farming is an emerging topic of interest. On gender issues, we focus on the application of European regulations, such as directives on work-life balance, gender equality, gender issues relating to performance at work, and much more.
One of our missions is to support and motivate women from middle management to climb the hierarchy to top management. Our members show that it is possible, and can share their experiences, challenges and approaches.
Join us!
Help us to show that women in agriculture don’t have to play second fiddle. According to our statutes, membership is open to:
- Women managers of agricultural enterprises – member organisations of the Association,
- Current members and employees of the Association's bodies and its regional organisations,
- Women managers and science, education and other professionals – women employees of other businesses, organisations, and institutions,
- Other individuals who contribute to members.
So not only women from member enterprises, and not only leaders. We believe that the number of members will grow and our voice will be heard. Membership applications must be approved by the board, and members become a member of the Association. The membership fee is 500 CZK per year.
To become a member, please contact the secretary Kateřina Tylšarová (tylsarova@zscr.cz).
